Not for profit Sector
The not-for-profit sector continues to make an important contribution across Tanzania and the wider East African region in areas such as climate action, food security, support for vulnerable communities, water and sanitation, human rights and governance, gender equality, environmental protection, and conservation. The sector is made up of a diverse range of organizations, from small community-based and welfare organizations to large local and international non-governmental and socio-economic development organizations.
Non-profit organizations remain essential in addressing social and economic challenges across Tanzania and East Africa. However, many of these organizations face significant risks, including funding uncertainty, governance and compliance challenges, environmental and financial risks, fraud, and mismanagement. In addition, evolving global regulations relating to anti-money laundering, human rights, security, and donor accountability have increased expectations for transparency and proper oversight. As a result, funding organizations increasingly require strong accountability, clear audit trails, and effective monitoring systems to demonstrate that resources are used for their intended purposes.
Our dedicated Not-for-Profit Sector Desk supports organizations across Tanzania and East Africa in managing risks, strengthening sustainability, and assessing project impact. We welcome the opportunity to discuss how our team can support your organization.
